Samsung's Unpacked event is indeed kicking off Fortnite's arrival on Android but it isn't exactly as we expected it to be.

Samsung has nabbed the exclusive Android release of popular survival game Fortnite as part of the launch for its Note 9 phablet, which the company is marketing as a premium phone for gamers.

The Galaxy Note 9 boasts supercharged internals, a brand new camera system and tons of internal storage. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Owners of these phones can open up their Game Launcher app and install Fortnite on Android starting today, August 9.

Thinking about the Galaxy Note 9 as a computer becomes particularly interesting when you consider the absolute mainstream user.

At first glance, the new stylus-or S Pen as Samsung calls it-looks like a slightly larger version of the one on the Note8.

Of course, there are a few exceptions here.

However, you may remember Note 7 devices notoriously catching fire while charging back in 2016, and even some replacement phones overheating.

A 128GB model is also available that comes with 6GB of RAM while the larger capacity model has 8GB of RAM.

Oh, the Note 9 also has a microSD card slot for further expansion, not to mention a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Galaxy Note 9 itself has some notable upgrades of its own.

The flagship features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display and is complemented by stereo speakers that are tuned by AKG. The 46mm model supports bigger 22m straps, weighs more, and has a bigger 472mAh battery. Rather than a battery, the S Pen has a supercapacitor inside that keeps it running for about 30 minutes at a time. After all, Samsung claims an all-day battery life with the Note 9. There's a 12-megapixel sensor (with f1.5 and f2.4 dual aperture and OIS) and a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor (with f2.4 aperture and OIS ). It can make the booking for you too, based on previous entries. However with Fortnite skipping Google Play, there's been some doubt as to how users would pay for Fortnite micro-transactions such as skins and emotes.

With this new Bluetooth connectivity, the S Pen also acts as a remote control where you can use it to control your presentation slides, gallery and YouTube playback without having to touch the phone. Even if the battery has no power it will still work as a regular S Pen for note taking, signing, drawing, screen-off memos and so on. The watch will last "several days" on a single charge thanks to its new optimized processor and low-power technology built into the device.
