Elderly Men Escape Nursing Home to Attend Heavy Metal Festival

The nursing home had already alerted police to their disappearance.

Deutsche Welle reports the men were reported missing by the nursing home and later found by police at the festival - at 3 a.m.

A police spokeswoman said the two men, whose exact ages were not disclosed, were "disoriented and dazed".

The ageing metalheads, who have not been identified, were found at 03:00 local time (01:00 BST) on the festival grounds, a police statement said. It's unclear whether their original intent was to attend the festival.

They were ushered into a taxi, which was given a police escort back to the nursing home.

Every year the German town of Wacken plays host to the Wacken Open Air Festival. They weren't happy about leaving and had to be escorted out of the festival grounds in a taxi and patrol auto.

A photo showing other elderly people rocking out at the festival was posted on Twitter. "How cool is that, please?"
