She said the call came the day after she was sacked by Chief of Staff John F. Kelly.

Manigault Newman, who was sacked from her White House job last December replied, saying, "General Kelly - General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave".

"No... I, I. Nobody even told me about it", Trump replied.

No one knows this better than master villainess and former senior Trump administration official Omarosa Manigault. I've got all the time you need.

He continues: "I didn't know that. Goddamn it. I don't love you leaving at all". "I heard the tape", she said.

Asked if she was concerned about any legal consequences, Omarosa told NBC's "Today" program: "No, absolutely not".

Then Director of Communications for the White House Public Liaison Office Omarosa Manigault Newman listens during the daily press briefing at the White House, Oct. 27, 2017, in Washington, DC.

"It's sad that with all the things that's going on in the country that he would take time out to insult me and to insult my intelligence", she told MSNBC in reaction to Trump's tweets.

"There's a lot of very corrupt things happening in the White House, and I am going to blow the whistle on a lot of this", Manigault Newman said.

And she took issue with the way in which the meeting to discuss her departure from the White House was handled, telling NBC's Savannah Guthrie, "It's not acceptable for four men to take a woman into a room, lock the door, and tell her that she can not leave".

When asked to respond to her book over the weekend, Trump called Manigault-Newman a "lowlife".

Trump went ahead and insulted the woman's intelligence, and also stated that she begged him for a job.

"It's good to see that there is someone in that position since Omarosa has been gone for a long while", he said. Frank Luntz, the campaign pollster who she claimed told an associate he had heard the president utter the racial slur, has emphatically denied the assertion. George Conway refuted her claims.

Manigault-Newman defended her integrity in Monday morning's interview, when Guthrie directly questioned why Manigault-Newman worked for Trump if she knew him to be a liar. The thought of her recording other employees and the leader of the free world is "completely disgraceful". They were just a coffee person.

The show aired portions of a recording of her firing by Mr Kelly in the high-security Situation Room.

Some security experts are concerned the recordings could have compromised national security.

Mercedes Schlapp, a White House spokesperson, told NBC News that Childs and Smith work closely on economic development issues for "urban communities and urban revitalization". She said in a statement that she feels "pity for Omarosa as she embarrasses herself by creating salacious lies and distortions just to try to be relevant and enrich herself by selling books at the expense of the truth". People at the White House hated her.

"Apparently telling the truth wasn't paying her bills, so she made a decision to switch her story to try and make a quick buck and that I just can't abide by", Mr. Gidley said.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders blasted the former staffer after her appearance.

He continued: 'Then on top of that, her character and her integrity have been impugned beyond measure. He makes the decisions. In his own tweets, the president seemed to suggest that she was utterly unqualified to work in the White House, yet he intervened on her behalf because she buttered him up.
