There's no better motivator than the threat of losing to your friends.

Pick a contact for Walkie-Talkie mode. The Pride Edition Woven Nylon band is updated with a new rainbow stripe with a donation being made to the following LGBTQ advocacy organizations: Gender Spectrum, GLSEN, ILGA, PFLAG, The National Center for Transgender Equality and The Trevor Project. The new platform brings a list of anticipated features, including third-party app support on the Siri watch face and the ability to offer Watch to Watch communication through an all-new feature called Walkie-Talkie. Especially with podcasts also supported by watchOS 5. It's now possible to start a fitness competition with other Apple Watch owners, and workout detection automatically determines when various activities start. First up is the ability to challenge your friends to 7-day workout competitions. The victor will get an award to add to their collection, kind of like real life achievement system.

Apple is also adding new workout types for yoga and hiking, along with cadence tracking and rolling mile pace for runners. It can also give you a heads up if you forget to stop the activity tracking.

One of these features will come in the form of a new app, dubbed "Walkie Talkie". Additionally, the Siri watch face introduced past year is gaining live sports scores, commute time, and heart-rate tracking. Also, third-party apps, like Nike+ Run Club and Citymapper, will be accessible directly through the Siri watch face for the first time. Instead of raising your wrist and then addressing Siri by name, you can just start asking your question. This watch-to-watch connection works over cellular and Wi-Fi, and enables you to send short voice messages to friends and family with an Apple Watch. Webkit content can be displayed in notifications now, and just like on iOS 12, notifications are grouped by app. Basically, Siri in watchOS 5 will be taking a lot of the legwork out of your daily routines. Users can leverage the audio playback support to play audiobooks, favourite playlists and guided meditations on their Apple Watch while on the go. But that feature didn't make its way onto the Apple Watch until now.

watchOS 5 comes with a ton of smaller, yet useful features.
