"I humbly thank all our party stalwarts who made this victory possible, particularly, Governor Ayodele Fayose".

The Ekiti State deputy governor, Kolapo Olusola-Eleka, has emerged the victor of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primary election.

The party stated this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said the candidate must also give the same form to his running mate, warning that both candidates must submit their forms to the national secretariat of the party latest by Monday. All the other parties are just shouting. "I'm very much satisfied with the process and by the grace of God whoever wins, we are going to support whoever emerges".

"People want to take us through another round of economic slavery. We are no more ready for that", he said.

He is at present the deputy governor of the state.

The chairman of the party in statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, on Wednesday, said the real victor from the exercise is democracy and not any individual as the PDP family in Ekiti would be healthier from the primary.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Education and National Leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prof Tunde Adeniran, has asked President Muhammadu and his All Progressives Congress (APC) to leave the stage by May 29, 2019. "We are all going for election".

On the issuance of a certificate of return to him, he observed: "I count my self privileged as the first gubernatorial candidate of our party to be issued a certificate of return".

Delegates from each local government area wore uniform Ankara clothing and were seated accordingly in the area allotted for them in the hall.

"I am determined to move Ekiti forward by sustaining those legacies that were started by our amiable governor".
