The average cost for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.26 in Lauderdale County and $2.25 in Colbert County, according to the survey.
Across the Great Lakes region, the average price per gallon is $2.47 in Wisconsin, $2.48 in IN, $2.49 in Minnesota, $2.54 in IL, $2.58 in MI, and $2.69 in NY.
Average retail gasoline prices in Chattanooga declined last week by another 2.5 cents per gallon, dropping to an average $2.21 per gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 170 gas outlets in Chattanooga. The highest was about $2.64 per gallon in the Jackson area.
That's also up about 24 cents from this time a year ago.

"Oil prices remain volatile yet several dollars off recent highs", said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.
Shelby County has the lowest gas prices this week by a 1-cent margin.
Falling crude oil inventories and steady prices for crude remained the rule for the week ended March 9. Ohio's gas prices have gone up 4.2 cents since last week. Gasoline prices remain in somewhat of a limbo as a result, with a mixed bag at pumps acrossgas the United States.
"Thus far, we have seen a market that's lacked solid upward movement when it usually sees exactly that,"said DeHaan in a news release".
AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have risen by about 5 cents per gallon in the past week. That compares to $2.30 one year ago.
