Given the negative reception to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, it makes sense the Black Ops series would stop moving forward in time. He noted that the new game will be released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and somewhat surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version of Black Ops 4 will reportedly support new DLC map packs, HD Rumble as well as the Joy-Con motion controls.
Sellars has a notable track record, having previously correctly predicted the Dark Souls Switch port and Nintendo Labo before both were announced.
If Black Ops 4 is coming this year, the big question is what year the game might take place.
According to industry insider and editor, Marcus Sellars, Call of Duty 2018 will in fact be Black Ops 4. The Black Ops storyline has covered a ton of ground in its settings, ranging from the Cold War all the way to the year 2065, so it's anyone's guess as to what this next game will be centered around. Even though the rumor comes from a reliable source, we have to take everything with a grain of salt until an official announcement comes in. Given Activision hasn't done this yet for Call of Duty 2018, we feel like we can say we'd really quite like to see a Switch port.
