Ring in the new year with clear skies and a bitterly cold overnight low of -10.

The National Weather Service has wind chill advisories in effect across in on New Year's Eve. The wind chill will range anywhere from -10 to -15 degrees.

Tonight's low is expected to be around -2 degrees, and wind chills ranging from 10 to 25 degrees below zero will make it risky for anyone to spend extended time outdoors on New Year's Eve without proper attire, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind speeds aren't expected to be very high, however, with temperatures being so low any wind would drop the wind chill to unsafe levels.

"Very cold wind chills [are] expected", says the weather service, "The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin".

A Winter Weather Advisory has also been issued by the National Weather Service for Sanilac and Huron counties. Frost bite and hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite source of weather information for the latest updates.
