Today (January 11), a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini was held that gave some information about a ton of Nintendo Switch games, both old and new. Boy, was it a good one too! Final Remix, due on Switch later this year, and Dark Souls Remastered releasing on Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC this May led the announcements. The game will incorporate an exclusive character for the Nintendo Switch version.
Pokken Tournament DX will receive some new content through a DLC "Battle Pack". There is the new "Artist" ability that lets you paint your own smackdowns and there's the "Spider" ability that lets you ensnare enemies.
Nintendo also revealed the update will include a trio of new costumes (Sunshine Shades and Outfit, Musician Hat and Outfit, and Knight Helmet and Armor) and new filters for Snapshot Mode. Previously announced for other platforms, this is the first news of the IP reaching the Nintendo Switch.
Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, originally released for Wii U, will include a "beginner-friendy" mode to balance out its infamously hard gameplay. Additionally, you'll see Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana and Payday 2 heading to the Switch this year as well.
FromSoft's long-running, extremely punishing action RPG is coming to Nintendo Switch on May 25. It's the first time a game in the Souls series has made it to a Nintendo console.
As announced during Nintendo's recent Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Kirby Star Allies will launch on March 16, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. These will, of course, need adapting for the Nintendo Switch.
