But the alleged affair didn't end there.

The Wall Street Journal reported last week that one of Trump's top lawyers sent $130,000 to Daniels just weeks before the 2016 presidential election to keep her silent about the encounter. But outlets were pursuing the story seemingly long before that.

In Touch magazine published excerpts on Wednesday from its 2011 interview with Clifford, 38, known as Stormy Daniels. It took place four months after Melania Trump gave birth to the couple's son.

The pornstar also said that the now President even compared her to his daughter as "beautiful and smart".

It's unclear with the publication did not run with the interview at the time.

The US magazine didn't publish the interview at the time since it was threatened of legal action by Trump's lawyers, a New York Post report said. She claims that eventually, Trump began pressuring her to get closer to him.

The video shows a picture of Daniels with President Trump; however, Trump's name is never mentioned in the video.

Speaking of which, there is another angle of the "Stormy Daniels" story which has not gotten much, if any, real analysis.

Three of Clifford's friends told Weisberg they were aware of the alleged affair at the time. In the full version Clifford details at length her 2006 relationship with the businessman, including encounters with his entourage, his teetotaling lifestyle and his phobia of sharks.

Either way, Clifford said that Trump invited her to visit him in his office followed by an invitation to the Miss USA pageant and the launch party for Trump Vodka. More details of their affair are being revealed, like the fact that he didn't wear a condom when he boned her.

When Daniels turned up at Trump's hotel room, though, she said she found the future president watching TV in his pyjamas. The tabloid added that Clifford "took and passed a polygraph test at the time of the interview". Visit MarketWatch.com for more information on this news. The buzz about "Stormy Daniels" - she was trending on Twitter Friday - has seemingly died down about as quickly as it came.

When Mother Jones reached out to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the Forbes accusation, she replied, "Would refer you back to comments given during the campaign on this".
