HP didn't provide any pricing information for the Envy x2, but it did say that customers can expect to buy it next spring.

The Snapdragon 845 is the spiritual successor to the Snapdragon 835 in more ways than one: the 835 used a 10nm manufacturing process, and the 845 is expected to use a more refined version of the same process. Until then, it's worth mentioning that, once again, the Snapdragon 845 is the result of the collaboration between Qualcomm and Samsung.

Inside of these new laptops we find Qualcomm's impressive and industry-leading Snapdragon 835 processor, with up to 8GB of RAM (4GB models exist too) and up to 256GB storage (128GB is also on offer).

There are plenty of Microsoft Surface rivals - or clones if you like - out there and the HP Envy x2 is now another one.

Contrary to what you might expect, the new Windows 10 ARM computers don't look hugely different from their Intel counterparts.

This announcement is also a win for GizmoChina, which predicted the "early December" unveiling for the Snapdragon 845 way back in October. These type of PCs, such as the ones from HP and ASUS are running Windows 10 on ARM, and they can deliver all-day battery life, better security, and much more. You should get over 30 days of standby on a single charge, while the NovaGo also promises up to 22 hours of video playback.

You have support for both eSIM and Nano SIM when you roam, although the availability of the eSIM may vary depending on where you live.

That's not all as standy time is quoted at 700 hours and HP says you can get 0-90 percent charge in just 90 minutes. We're talking potentially Gigabit speeds so up to seven times the average broadband connection. The Envy x2 is, like the Microsoft Surface Pro, a 2-in-1 detachable with a removable keyboard cover with built in hinge, measuring 6.9mm thin, and promising 20-hour battery life. That means that you'll need to use the tray table when you're on an airplane. Retail prices start from US$599 for the 4 GB RAM/64 GB storage version and tops at US$799 for the 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage version.

The Envy x2 has a 12in screen with a 1920x1280 resolution and supports stylus input. Microsoft's Terry Myerson came on stage today to briefly talk about these Windows 10 on ARM PCs, he later detailed the benefits of this new platform via a post on the Windows Experience Blog.
