Adrian Peterson says he wants to play next season

Luckily for those who hate season finale teasers, Adrian Peterson has clarified what his future looks like. In four games for the Saints, he ran for 81 yards on 24 carries and caught two passes for 4 yards.

"The good news is my neck injury doesn't require surgery, but I'm told by Dr. Robert Watkins that the best thing for me is just more rest than the length of this season" Peterson said. "I'm grateful for the opportunity that the Arizona Cardinals have given me to show that I can still contribute on an National Football League team".

Peterson signed with the New Orleans Saints in the offseason, but found little success in what has turned into a dominant two-headed backfield with Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara. He also had a 159-yard game against San Francisco, when the Cardinals gave him 37 carries. It's also possible Peterson's incredible, Hall of Fame career will quietly end after a final season wearing two foreign uniforms.

Before the Titans game, Peterson shared a video on Instagram that showed the exact play where he suffered his injury.

The former MVP ended up with the Cardinals, and made an immediate impact, rushing for over 130 yards in his first game in a Cardinals uniform. Peterson had missed the past two weeks, and with only three games remaining, the Cardinals decided not to hold his 53-man roster spot any longer.
