President Trump is now suggesting the Access Hollywood tape, which surfaced weeks before the election previous year and famously featured him bragging to then-host Billy Bush about sexual assault by grabbing women by the "pussy", was perhaps not authentic.
Donald Trump has been suggesting that the infamous "Access Hollywood" tape that surfaced during the presidential election is a fake.
This still grab from a 2005 video shows Donald Trump, center, accompanied by "Access Hollywood" host Billy Bush, left, to the set of the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" with actress Arianne Zucker.
The report says Trump sees the Moore allegations as an echo of his own battles with accusers who came forward after the tape emerged, in which Trump boasted about grabbing women's private parts.
It goes on to say that Trump suggested to a senator earlier in the year that the Access Hollywood tape was "not authentic." and said it again to an adviser recently. Moore's allegations stem from several women claiming he had inappropriate sexual relationships with them while they were minors and his subsequent remarks in the aftermath of the allegations.
Of the accusations, Trump said that Moore "denies it".
Sunday's comments were the latest lifeline Trump has thrown to Moore and deniers everywhere when he tweeted that the GOP Senate candidate would still be a better choice than a Democrat.More news: Georgia fire: Black Sea resort hotel blaze leaves 11 dead

Billy Bush of "Access Hollywood" interviews Donald Trump at a "Celebrity Apprentice" event at Trump Tower on January 20, 2015.
"You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful - I just start kissing them", Trump told Bush. I don't even wait.
As the controversy unfolded, at least 16 women publicly accused Trump of varying degrees of sexual misconduct.
"I think that's kind of scary", Cuomo said. You bragged that you have sexually assaulted women.
"I have great respect for women".
