For a while Hearthstone saw two different types of updates, one was a much larger card-focused expansion, others were smaller narrative-focused events. The bravest and most foolhardy adventurers will need all the help they can get as they delve into Hearthstone'sfree new single-player game mode: Dungeon Runs! Pre purchasing the expansion will also give players a shining "FOR THE HORD" card back to add to their collection. "Play Mode" features traditional head-to-head battles, with players facing off for a chance to increase their medal ranking and earn card packs along the way.

As previously revealed, players will receive three Kobolds & Catacombs packs, as well as a Legendary Weapon pack completely free of charge once they log in to the game after its release.

"For that reason, putting together three full releases with mission content is a big part of how we see the game going forwards". We're also adding three sequential one-time Dungeon Run quests*, and each one awards one Kobolds & Catacombs card pack, for a total of three more card packs. As they progress, they'll bolster their decks with cards looted from defeated bosses, including some immensely powerful treasures exclusive to Dungeon Runs.

Blizzard have announced that Hearthstone's new expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs, will launch next week on 7 December in North America and 8 December in EU.
