Chelsea manager Antonio Conte blames tiredness for home defeat to Manchester City

I came to Chelsea because one club and one coach believed in me.

Spain are likely to be without Alvaro Morata for their final World Cup qualifiers after he suffered an injury during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.

There were inevitably some question marks about how quickly Morata would be able to adapt to the rigours of English football, but the striker has been in top form so far this term and has shown plenty of promise.

N'GOLO KANTE claims it's a "shame" that Chelsea team-mate Tiemoue Bakayoko has not been called up to the latest France squad. Morata spent two years at Juventus and although he was a regular starter in his first season in Turin, Max Allegri usually picked up the likes of Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in the second campaign of Morata with the bianconeri.

'Man City are a really good team.

Morata was off target once more from a similar position to the right of goal inside the Atletico penalty area, provoking an animated response from Conte on the touchline.

Today we gave everything and after a game you can win or you can lose, but I think the most important thing is to see that your players give you everything.

Morata headed in a 59th-minute cross from the exceptional Eden Hazard to move on to seven goals in all competitions this season and worse was to follow for Diego Simeone's men. "But I think and hope he stays healthy".

Conte has urged Hazard to take his game to the next level and the Belgian was scintillating at times. But personally I prefer the 5-3-2 and I think just Morata and Hazard are flawless strike partners up front.

"We came here to try to win this game and we did".

It's another big match, another big Premier League match.

Michy Batshuayi didn't start any of Chelsea's three games in seven days this past week and he also wasn't called upon when Alvaro Morata went off in the 35th minute on Saturday.

Hazard is ready to start his first top-flight game of season, against Manchester City on Saturday, having recovered from summer ankle surgery, and he excelled in his side's victory at Atlético Madrid in midweek.
