6 killed in suspected cylinder blast in Bengaluru

Three persons were killed and as many got injured when a portion of a residential building collapsed in Ejipura area on Monday due to a cylinder blast, police said here.

Tragic Incident took place in Banglore, A gas cylinder explosion in house to caused the walls of the building to collapse.

Bengaluru development minister KJ George also announced that a compensation of Rs 5 lakh will be given to the kin of the deceased, as per an ANI tweet. However, the Karnataka Home Minister has negated the assumption of cylinder blast behind the building collapse. In the latest development on the Ejipura building collapse in Bengaluru, the Bengaluru Development Minister has made a decision to adopt the baby girl who lost her parent in the unfortunate incident. A five-year-old girl was among the miraculous rescue, while the parents died in the incident.

The Fire Department was alerted around 6.45am when a 50-year-old woman was leaving for work and she heard an explosion.

Two of the deceased have been identified as Kalavathi (68) and Ravichandran (30).

An official from the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services said at least four more were suspected to be trapped under the debris.

Meanwhile, the authorities managed to rescue a three-year-old girl from the debris of the building.

At least 40 fire-fighters and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have rushed to the spot and rescue operations are underway.

"Two families were residing on the ground floor, while one was on the first floor".
