SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH issued for southwest Missouri

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

More thunderstorms are headed toward parts of the Greater Toronto Area on Wednesday afternoon.

The severe thunderstorm watch says atmospheric conditions are ripe for the development of unsafe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail, lightning strikes and torrential rain.

The National Weather Service says the area of the state with a marginal severe outlook covers the Burlington, Akron, Sterling and Julesburg areas.

The watch runs through 9 p.m.

Aside from the storms, the GTA will see a high of 21 C Wednesday.

The storms have the potential to lay down hail as large as a lime.

Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected throughout the Mid-Columbia from the storm system.

After a storm lit up the sky Tuesday night and had lakeside residents bracing for damaging winds, another storm is unfortunately in the works.
