The Taiwanese company HTC has unveiled its new flagship smartphone, the U11, which is expected to be launched in June at an unlocked price of US$649 (RM2,804). The 6GB RAM version comes with 128GB storage, while the 4GB RAM version includes 64GB inbuilt storage. The most striking feature in U 11 is probably the simple squeeze on the side panel that allows you to initiate actions like take photos, open Facebook, or launch any of your favourite apps. We've got support for Hi-Res Audio recording, as well as 3D audio recording via four microphones. Like many other flagships, the HTC U11 supports all the latest connectivity standards, including 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C, NFC, single and dual-SIM as well as DisplayPort and HTC Connect. Four of the HTC's colours - silver, blue, black and white - will be available in the United Kingdom when the phone launches in June and the red variation will come later this year. If you manage to checkout from HTC's own USA -based website when entering the code, the total price of the smartphone will be reduced from $649 to $599 (as shown in the image below). The smartphone comes with the Edge Sense feature bringing a completely new category of interaction with the smartphone.
Inside there's a Snapdragon 835 processor, the same chip inside the Samsung S8, so you can expect nippy performance all round. Just like iPhone, it lacks 3.5mm headphone jack. Although Google Assistant may already be enough for most folks, HTC has also added Amazon's Alexa onto the HTC U11.
The HTC U11 is also the Taiwan-based company's first IP67 dust and water resistant phone. The HTC U11 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with the customized HTC Sense UI laid on top.More news: Kipnis homers twice in leadoff spot, Indians beat Twins 8-3

Edge sense on the HTC U11 also works with bumper cases and soft cases and gloves but not with hard cases. Under the hood, it has a 3000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging.
Since it launched previous year, Alexa and the Echo speaker have become hugely popular and including it on the U11 is a smart move from HTC. It's thrown a lot of features at the device's 12MP UltraPixel 3 shooter including lag-free Auto HDR Boost, Temporal Noise Reduction to output clear videos, UltraSpeed Autofocus for DSLR-esque focus speeds, OIS, and EIS.
For selfies there's a 16-megapixel front-facing camera which has been optimised for taking snaps in low light. And the phone comes in five gorgeous, shimmering colors, including two impressive new hues - "amazing silver", which shifts between a sky blue and silvery gray, and the fiery "solar red", my personal favorite.
