Bhardwaj, who represents the Greater Kailash constituency, claimed that in his capacity as an engineer, he had extensively worked in this area and was aware of how the machines can be fiddled with.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today dared the Election Commission to provide an EVM to the AAP, claiming it can be tampered with in 90 seconds flat.
The session was utilised by AAP legislator Saurabh Bharadwaj who sought to demonstrate how an EVM can be tampered with to rig poll results. It said that the demonstration of the tampering was of a "lookalike" EVM and it should be understood that it was not possible for anyone to make any electronic gadget which looks like ECI-EVM and demonstrate any "magic or tampering".
Malviya Nagar MLA Somnath Bharti said the tampering of EVMs was "the biggest fraud on democracy", adding that the Delhi State Election Commission could have postponed the municipal polls in order to implement voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT), but chose not to. "It's outrageous", Bhardwaj said, explaining that a "manipulator" enters the polling booth early into voting and enters a unique secret code that ensures that all votes polled thereafter that would go to a selected candidate. On the EVMs, he said that the Election Commission of India had invited political parties on Friday to discuss the matter and the AAP could demonstrate its "rigged" machines there. Give AAP the EVMs.
"I read the Election Commission's site". Several national leaders, including former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, have criticised the AAP for insisting that EVMs were fixed to help the BJP win elections. He maintained that the AAP candidate had lost its deposit in Rajouri Garden by-election where VVPAT was used.More news: Hamas says Ismail Haniyeh chosen as Islamic group's leader

The Election Commission, which has called an all-party meeting on EVMs, dismissed Bharadwaj's assertions.
"Kejriwal has been rattled by the bribe charge made against him by his sacked water minister Kapil Mishra, and the special session of the assembly seemed to have been convened to divert the attention of the people from the corruption charges against him", he said. "In 90 seconds the motherboard can be changed", he said.
"Back to same rhetoric instead of apologising to the people for corruption".
Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of allegedly tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in the recently held polls across the country, Aam Aadmi Party MLAs on Tuesday said that "democracy was in danger".
"Kejriwal diverting public attention from governance-failure and corruption", he tweeted.
