"The most unbelievable thing about him is this: He has come through a forest of criticism for months now, and has never bowed".

Arsenal face Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday looking to salvage silverware from a campaign that has seen them miss out on Champions League qualification for the first time in 20 seasons.

"That is my mindset, no matter what happens or what is facing me on Saturday, I am going to go for it".

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he will not stick around at Arsenal for long enough to match Sir Alex Ferguson's achievement of spending 26 years at one club.

"I love to win and what I want is to do well for my club".

Wenger insisted it would be his decision whether Sanchez stayed.

"Apart from the League Cup, where we play always the younger players to give them a chance to develop, we take all the other competitions seriously", he said.

Mustafi joined Arsenal for a fee in excess of £35m last summer and has played 37 times for the club this season. "He is under contract until 2018".

Speaking in Dublin this morning, former Arsenal midfielder Brady defended Wenger and said his achievements as manager since 1996 shouldn't be discarded on the back of one season.

"That's the main thing is we need to keep the team together and try to strengthen it in the areas where the manager would like to, and then we will be ready to go again". Knowing the player, knowing his character and knowing his commitment for the club, which I don't question at all, he'll do absolutely everything to be fit for Saturday.

"Shkodran Mustafi we have some worries. It would be a good crowning of what we have done in the last two months".

"Actually in the original draft, I said he couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag".

"We will have our usual security".

"We live a little bit in our own bubble so we are a bit isolated from that".

Earlier yesterday, Chelsea cancelled their planned Premier League victory parade, after taking security advice.

At that stage, with Liverpool being held at home by Middlesbrough, it looked as though Arsenal could yet squeeze into the top four but as news filtered through that Liverpool had gone ahead, those hopes faded.
